Assistant Engineer

$7,601 – $9,240 per month

Job Description: Assistant Engineer

We are seeking a person to provide engineering support for wastewater collection and recycled water distribution system operations within a small, efficient, service-oriented local government. The job includes collecting and analyzing data, updating plans and maps, processing permits, maintaining records, procuring materials and equipment, assisting in the preparation of maintenance, operation, and capital improvement programs, assisting in the inspection of construction projects for wastewater collection and recycled water distribution systems, and advising the public.

Desirable skills include the ability to perform a range of technical/engineering duties, operate general office equipment, effectively communicate orally and in writing in English, and efficiently use word processing, spreadsheets, presentation, and engineering-related software applications.

Minimum qualifications: Any combination of education and experience that provides the skill, knowledge, and licenses that demonstrate abilities to perform the tasks associated with the job. A typical way of qualifying is an engineering degree and two or more years of experience in technical engineering work or similar related public works experience.

Environmental Compliance Coordinator

$7,601 – $9,240 per month

Job Description: Environmental Compliance Coordinator

We are seeking a person to provide administrative and technical support for environmental compliance of solid waste, wastewater collection and recycled water distribution system operations within a small, efficient, service-oriented local government. The position coordinates with the solid waste franchise hauler, state regulatory agencies and the local waste management district. The job also includes collecting and analyzing data, updating plans and maps, processing permits, maintaining records, procuring materials and equipment, assisting in the preparation of maintenance, operation, and capital improvement programs, assisting in the inspection of solid waste, recycled water and wastewater systems, and advising the public.

Desirable skills include the ability to perform a range of technical duties, operate general office equipment, effectively communicate orally and in writing in English, and efficiently use word processing, spreadsheets, presentation, and related technical software applications.

Minimum qualifications: Any combination of education and experience that provides the skill, knowledge, and licenses that demonstrate abilities to perform the tasks associated with the job. A typical way of qualifying is a college degree and two or more years of experience in technical work or similar related public works experience.
