Assistant Engineer
Salary Range: $7,989 – $9,711 per month

PBCSD is seeking a person to provide engineering support for wastewater collection and recycled water distribution system operations within a small, efficient, service-oriented local government. The job includes collecting and analyzing data, updating plans and maps, processing permits, maintaining records, procuring materials and equipment, assisting in the preparation of maintenance, operation, and capital improvement programs, assisting in the inspection of recycled water and wastewater system construction projects, and advising the public.
Desirable skills include the ability to perform a range of technical/engineering duties, operate general office equipment, effectively communicate orally and in writing in English, and efficiently use word processing and engineering-related software applications.
Minimum qualifications: Any combination of education and experience that provides the skill, knowledge, and licenses that demonstrate abilities to perform the tasks associated with the job. A typical way of qualifying is an engineering degree and experience in technical engineering work or similar related public works experience.
Maintenance Worker I or II
Salary Range: $5,655 – $8,375 per month

PBCSD is seeking someone with experience and abilities to do basic and skilled maintenance work for a position in the Maintenance Department.
Maintenance Worker I and II are entry level and journey level positions responsible for cleaning and maintaining wastewater collection lines and assisting in maintenance of pumping facilities, machinery and equipment.
Minimum qualifications: No previous knowledge or experience of sewer collection or recycled water distribution systems is required for Maintenance Worker I. Any combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities is qualifying. Maintenance Worker II requires two years of related experience. A California Class B driver’s license and certain professional certifications must be achieved within specified periods after the hiring date.
